The Art of Serving An Artist
Anya Rubin is a renowned painter based in the NYC area. Every time Anya completes a new collection of work, she calls on me to photograph the pieces for her online and print catalog and promotion. This is a highly technical assignment because shooting artwork requires that you render the photography “Exactly” as the art exists. This means that white balance, color, tonality, saturation and several other measures need to be spot on. This is actually very typical of nearly all product assignments. The client wants their audience to see their products the way they intended. Fro artwork and similar however, there is absolutely no room for creativity or error.
